Itinerary

Day 1: Arriving to Lima

Depart from (USA, JAPAN, South America) to Lima. Arrive to the airport Jorge Chavez where a representative from Kontiki Tours will pick you up and take you to the hotel, where he/she will explain the whole itinerary.

Night in Lima

Day 2: Lima, Ceviche

We will start our tour with the visit to the ceremonial centre Pre Inca called Huaca Pucllana, following this we will visit the historic centre of Lima that was declared humanity patrimony by the Unesco.

In the centre of Lima we will visit the cathedral of Lima, the government palace, the Archiepiscopal palace, the church and the San Francisco Convent were you will visit the famous catacombs.

After this we will visit the modern lima that will include the districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, here you will be able to enjoy the park love that is frequented by everybody and in special dates by couples. Then we will pass to Larcomar a stylish and beautiful shopping mall that has an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.

After visiting these places, we will take you to a good restaurant in Lima to eat lunch and then take you to your hotel, in the afternoon we will take you to a Peruvian house (or the market) were they will teach you how to make the famous Cebiche.

At the end of the class we will take you to your hotel.

Night in Lima

Day 3: Lima, Lomo saltado

We will start the tour with the enigmatic city of Pachacamac ubicated 35 minutes afar from Lima, in this great city you will fide constructions in form of pyramids that were temples of Pre inca cultures. Here the highlights are the Pachacamac Oracle, the temple Acllahuasi, the painted temple, the sun temple and the museum of the site

We will continue out tour with a show of the famous Peruvian paso horses ubicated in a gorgeous house hacienda in the valley of Lurin, here we will learn about the history of the hacienda and learn more about this special horses that are unique in the world.

The show includes riders and horses dancing to the music, here you will also be able to ride the horse and take great pictures.

Then we will go to a house to learn how to make the famous dish Lomo Saltado.

At the end of the lesson we will take you to your hotel.

Night in Lima

Day 4: Cusco, Quinua

After the breakfast in the hotel, you will be picked up to take the airport express bus in Miraflores to go to the Jorge Chavez airport to take your flight to Cusco.

Cusco is at 3399 meters high (11 150 feet) which will be the highest altitude in this tour, we recommend taking some pills to help you with this (we can buy the pills for you). We will also prepare a bottle of oxygen for people that need it.

Our representative will pick you at the airport and take you to the Sun temple (Korikancha) which is one of the most important temples of the Inca empire, it is said that in the temple there was many big statues of gold and the building decorated in honour of the sun god, here you will also see the antisismic Inca technique.

After that we will visit the famous 12 angles stone, the main square, the San Cristobal church and we will take lunch near the main square.

Then we will visit the San Pedro market, were we will buy the ingredients for the dishes we will prepare that day made of Quinoa. after shopping we will go to the cooking school or a peruvian house to learn how to prepare the dishes.

Night in Cusco

Day 5: Urubamba, Aji de gallina

In the morning after breakfast we will go to Urubamba, in the way we will visit Sacsayhuaman (Inca fortress), Qenko (Inca adoratory) and Puca Pucara (one of the Inca empire administrative and military centre of the Inca empire).

We will go to a buffet restaurant for you to eat all the dishes you know how to prepare and other more that you will learn how to make in the following days.

After that we will learn how to make the delicious Aji de Gallina in the hotel or a peruvian house near the hotel.

The afternoon will be then be free you to enjoy the hotel and rest.

Night in Urubamba

Day 6: Machuppichu

In the morning after breakfast we will take you from your hotel to the station of Urubamba to take the train to Aguas Calientes, then we will take you to the bus station of Aguas Calientes to Machuppichu. In this magnificent city you will be able to visit: the temple of the condor, the temple of water, the temple of the three windows, the main plaza, etc. after this you will be able to climb Huaynapicchu (reservation with months of anticipation as the tickets are limited)

After the Machuppichu visit you will have free time to enjoy lunch in a typic restaurant, we recommend eat guinea pig or alpaca meat.

We also recommend relaxing at the thermal water near the hotel.

In the afternoon we will take you to the train station of Aguas Calientes to take your train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will take you to your hotel in Urubamba.

Night in Urubamba

Day 7: Maras, Moray, Chinchero

After breakfast we will depart to Cusco.

In the way to Cusco we will visit the Inca salt flat Maras, where you will be able to take great pictures of the view and buy the delicious unique salt.

After Maras we will visit Moray. Recognized place for its influence that it had in the Inca agriculture, it can be said that Moray was like a laboratory with emphasis in agriculture. The Incan mind did not  have limits as you will be able to understand seeing Moray.

To finish the tour of the day we will visit Chinchero, an important textile city where you will be able to appreciate the different textiles of the region and where you will also be able to buy a unique present for friends at home.

At the arrival of the city of Cusco we will take you to the hotel to rest a few hours in the hotel we will teach to make the famous cocktail Pisco Sour.

Night in Cusco

Day 8: Cusco Causa

In the morning you will be able to visit some recommend museums by yourself (or with guide for an extra cost), we will also visit different markets in Cusco to see the difference of the places, quality of products and possibly some food ingredients you did not know yet.

We also recommend visiting the chocolate museum for good souvenirs to bring back home.

We will take you back to your hotel and recommend you some restaurant were you could eat lunch. In the afternoon we will take you to a Peruvian house to learn the other famous dish known as Causa, at the end of the class we will take you back to your hotel.

Night in Cusco

Day 9: Return to home country

We will pick you up in the morning to take you to the airport of Cusco to take your flight to Lima and to your home country.

Reservation Politics

Reservation

  1. To make your reservation you should pay 10% of the cost of the package to separate your space (non-refundable, this money could be used in another tour you choose if you cancelled a tour, only could be used one time)
  2. You need to pay 50% of the cost of the package 60 days before the trip starts and another 40 % of the cost of the package 30 days before the trip starts.
  3. When you apply for one package the agency will contact you in 48 hours with the final price of the package
  4. The payment should be to our back accounts
  5. The passenger to be able to do a reservation, he/she should give the following information:
  • Full name
  • Passport number
  • Birthdate
  • Expiration date of passport
  • Nationality
  • Age
  • Sex
  • Also, any physical condition, allergies, diseases and preference of food.

Politics about children

In all our programs unless stated, the maximum age of a child is 11 years old, older children than 12 years old are considered as adults and will have same tariff as an adult

Package cancellation:

All our passengers are subject to the charge for cancelation and/or change of date for the solicited service.

  • If the cancelation is made 60 days before the trip starts, we will change you 50 % of the paid price
  • If the cancelation is 45 days before the trip starts, we will change 60 % of the paid price
  • We can not change a name of one passage with another passenger name, can not transfer your package to another person
  • If you have reserved your package with: hotel, flight, bus and train, you will have to follow the conditions and rules of those businesses. This rule also is applicable to touristic places as Machupicchu or Inka trail.

No Show

All passenger that is not present on a programmed service and reserved, without cancellation or acceptance from our part will be considered a No Show, and we will be charged 100% of the price of the package without refund or complains.

Complementary

We recommend to all our customer to buy an accident insurance or/and travel insurance. We do not provide accident or travel insurance and this is also not included in our costs.

If a passenger or member of the group becomes ills or a mishap happen, we will transport the passenger to the nearest clinic to receive the due attention.

In the case of accidents or when an evacuation is necessary, we will organize the logistics of rescue and evacuation, in both cases the costs will be assumed by the client or their insurance.

**we recommend to other businesses or tour operators verify if the passenger we operate for you have travel insurance.

Service control

At the end of the trip the passengers can fill a formulary of evaluation of the services. This will let us know the comments of our services and will serve as a way to improve.
